Terms of Use

Welcome to browniegames.com (the "Site"), operated by Brownie Games, an independent game studio based in Israel ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. What the Site is

The Site presents our studio and our party games, including OffBeat and ShameOnU (the "Games"). Downloading or playing the Games is additionally subject to the game-specific policies in the Game Policies tab and to the terms of the relevant app store.

2. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including the Brownie Games name and logo, the OffBeat and ShameOnU names and logos, artwork, text, graphics, screenshots and merchandise designs, is owned by Brownie Games or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or use it commercially without our prior written consent.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including attempting to interfere with its operation, scraping it at scale, or using it in any unlawful way.

4. Third-party links and stores

The Site links to third-party platforms such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, Instagram and TikTok. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

5. Merchandise

Merchandise shown on the Site is presented as a preview and is not currently offered for sale through the Site. If and when sales open, separate purchase terms will apply and will be published here.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brownie Games will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damage arising from use of the Site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page, with its "last updated" date, is the binding one.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Tel Aviv-Yafo will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to them.

Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information Brownie Games ("we") collects on browniegames.com and in our games, and what we do with it. We keep it short on purpose: we collect very little.

1. What we collect on the Site

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used: pages viewed, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Cookies. Essential cookies (for example, remembering that you dismissed the cookie notice) and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the Site will keep working.
  • Email. If you email us at hello@browniegames.com, we will have your email address and whatever you chose to write. We use it only to reply.

The Site has no user accounts, no forms and no payment processing.

2. What we collect in the Games

Our games are built for people in the same room, and we design them to collect as little as possible. Depending on the game, we may process device identifiers, gameplay events and crash reports (via analytics providers), and a nickname you choose in-game. Game-specific details appear in the Game Policies tab. We do not sell personal data.

3. Legal basis and your rights

We process data in accordance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and, where applicable to visitors from the EU/EEA, the GDPR. You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information relating to you at hello@browniegames.com.

4. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that make the Site and Games work (such as analytics and hosting providers, and the app stores), under their own data-processing terms, and where required by law.

5. Retention and security

Aggregated analytics are retained per our analytics provider's settings. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold.

6. Children

The Site and Games are not directed at children under 13, and ShameOnU is intended for adult audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Accessibility Statement

Brownie Games makes games about bringing people together, so making our website usable by everyone matters to us. We work to comply with the Israeli service accessibility regulations (Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013) and aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What we've implemented

  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators.
  • Respect for the "reduce motion" system preference: animations, the moving strip and decorative effects are disabled for users who prefer reduced motion.
  • Color contrast tuned to AA levels for text on all backgrounds.
  • Semantic HTML structure, alternative text for meaningful images, and ARIA labels on interactive components.
  • A responsive layout usable on screen sizes from small phones to large monitors.

Known limitations

Some decorative motion (such as the marquee strip) and embedded product photography may not be fully described for screen readers. We review and improve this on an ongoing basis.

Our apps

This statement applies to our website. Our games are designed with comfort and usability in mind as well, including support for system accessibility settings where feasible, and we address accessibility reports about the games through the same contact below.
